Rat murinoglobulin (also known as a1-inhibitor III) is a monomeric serum protein of ~190 kDa. It is a negative acute phase reactant, the levels of which can decrease from ~8 mg/ml in normal serum to ~0.8 mg/ml during the acute phase response. Murinoglobulin is purified using a combination of gel filtration and ion-exchange chromatography steps.
