Product Description
Alpha-1-Acid glycoprotein (A1AGP) is one if the most acidic proteins found in serum. It has a molecular weight of approximately 44 kDa with a high (~45%) content of carbohydrate. It is a positive acute phase reactant, the levels of which increase significantly in cats in response to inflammation, tissue injury and disease. A1AGP is purified at LDI using a combination of ammonium sulfate fractionation and affinity chromatography, a method that avoids the harsh acid treatments often used for A1AGP purification. A1AGP is a being investigated as a potential biomarker for feline infectious peritonitis. LDI also manufactures polyclonal and monoclonal antibodies for detection of cat A1AGP.
